Truth Tips of a Vet Visit

Here’s how Vet visits work.

I’m hoping giving some clarity might lead to a better understanding of what to expect when you head to the Vet.

We can’t make your decisions, we make recommendations.

This means be prepared to say “yes”, “no” and ask questions. But most of all

L I S T E N when we give our thoughts.

Because we can’t make your decisions (legally) this means the buck stops with you. You’re driving the journey. We are just here to sign post and give information.

We can’t make your decisions for many reasons. One being we don’t know what you can afford.

We also don’t really judge on what you can or can’t afford. We just want you to understand the limitations and benefits of the decisions being made.

This means be careful when you blame your vet for not coming to an answer. Sometimes we’re not able to because we can’t do the tests needed. And sometimes we just don’t know.

You see. Human doctors have access to everything with no financial constraints, and their patients can talk.

And….

Sometimes they still can’t tell you what’s going on!

A Vet visit is not a magic cure visit.

It’s a journey that you’re entering into.

Sometimes we get lucky and find the answers on 1 visit. And generally this happens because of

- Your vets level of experience, and

- What you allow us to do.

Sometimes we need several visits, lots of tests, time, re-exams, consulting with other vets, praying to a god, cleansing out chakras… and sometimes still we have to say

“ we don’t know”

This doesn’t make us a bad Vet.

This is our way of saying “we don’t want to tell you BS just to give you a false answer”

Finding answers to your pets problems is really hard. Seriously.

We are human.

So just remember. We’re here to guide and support. But you call the shots
